A Giveaway to Start Your Week Off

by Kortney Campbell on May 14, 2012

So, if you follow me on instagram, you may have seen my photo about 4 weeks back about the Malibu Wellness 100% vegan hair treatment I received in the mail. I’m excited to say that I’m finished testing their product and we’ll be giving kits away to 8 lucky ladies & gents today (You can find the rules at the bottom of this post)!

I was given the Hard Water Treatment due to mineral build-up (that I was unaware of) in Florida’s water. I stopped dying my hair a couple of years ago and it seems to be fairly healthy, so I was a little hesitant to believe that the product would REALLY make any difference with my hair, but I now stand corrected.

You only need to use the mineral treatment once a week, which works out perfectly for me because I only wash my hair once a week. However, the process with the product is a little different than what I was used to:

  1. Wash.
  2. Mineral Treatment: Pour a powdery supstance in your hand, add water until it turns into a paste, massage into hair & let sit for 5 minutes then rinse.
  3. Wash again.
  4. Condition.

I like change though, so I found it fun.

After the first few treatments, I noticed my hair to take on a brighter, shinier color than my usual dull brown. It was almost like an exfoliant for my hair – I could see and feel a significant difference.

Again, I used the Hard Water Treatment, but they have SO many options that may suit you even better. Here are the others you have to choose from:

  • Blondes & Highlights
  • Color Correction
  • Color Treated Hair
  • Damaged Hair
  • Discolored Hair
  • Dry Hair
  • Fine Hair
  • Hair Loss
  • Hard Water
  • Hair Lacks Body & Shine
  • Permed Hair
  • Relaxed Hair
  • Soft/Softened Water
  • Styling Product Buildup
  • Swimmer’s Hair
  • Thinning Hair
  • Well Water

I actually found out after a few weeks of testing that Katie’s salon uses this product on the reg – it’s more legit than I thought! Basically, this stuff rocks and I’m convinced that you’ll love it too, so we’re giving it away to 8 lucky readers! To win a Malibu hair treatment kit of your own, here’s what you have to do (just click the links to go directly to the sites):

  • Go “like” them on facebook.
  • Head over to their website & pick the hair kit that best suits you (You can read all about each one under the Hair Solutions tab).
  • Be one of the 1st 8 people to comment on this blog with the hair kit of your choosing and why you’d like to win.

This should only take a few minutes and we’ll be announcing the winner on Wednesday’s blog.

I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day & Happy Music Monday! We had our fashion show on Saturday, so I figured this was a good song to start off the week:

    I hope I made it!!!

So after my cell phone was on the fritz on my car ride this morning I would like to re-submit the correct post!

I would absolutely LOVE to try the Malibu Color Wellness kit because I have a love for having my hair a very dark red. And it takes a trip to the salon every 4-6 weeks. I am thinking this might be a great thing for my hair, it needs it.

And Ms. Campbell has been trying to introduce me to vegan products in all areas of life and this would be a great starting point!

    Thank you!

    Lisa May 14, 2012 at 8:41 am

Ok I’m heading over to the site now to try to win the hair care treatment. It’s important to me to use healthy products and cruelty free products so I’m excited to find this

    Lisa May 14, 2012 at 8:52 am

Color wellness kit is my choice, for body and shine. I didn’t post the type on my first entry so hope this doesn’t take up 2 spots. Color wellness kit for chemically treated hair, can’t wait to try it

Amira Hayes May 14, 2012 at 9:07 am

Cruelty free products are important and I’m always looking for an opportunity to try a new cruelty free product. Here’s hoping I win the product especially since yesterday was my birthday and mothers day!

    Heather May 14, 2012 at 9:11 am

Id love to try the one for build-up on my son. He has beautiful curly hair, but that means I use a lot of product.

Adrienne Borgersen May 14, 2012 at 9:12 am

Wow, this looks like a great product! It’s so hard to find beauty products that I’m sure are vegan. I always look for a “cruelty free” label to ensure there’s been no animal testing, but I’m rarely 100% sure all of the ingredients are vegan. I would really love to try the “color wellness” kit and spread the good word. Thank you!!

Rainy Miller May 14, 2012 at 9:17 am

Thanks for all the cool info and post ladies……I love it….oh and Happy Mothers days.

Sarah Span May 14, 2012 at 9:21 am

I would love to try the Blonde & Highlights Kit. Thank you Vegan Housewives for being so awesome! And thank you for taking the time to show more & more ways to be vegan, I’m loving every bit of it.

    nichole May 14, 2012 at 9:21 am

I’d love to try this product! I’ve seen it used in a few salons before, but haven’t had a chance to give it a go. I’m like you, where my hair is majorly due for some loving. It’s been damaged for some years now and I’ve been trying all types of alternatives. I would LOVE the opportunity to support this cruelty free/vegan product and try the kit for damaged hair. I’m a believer!

p.s. Mr. Sandman made my day <3

    maria May 14, 2012 at 9:23 am

I have lack of.moisture hair. Maybe this will.change my life

    Elysia May 14, 2012 at 9:24 am

Color treated hair would be awesome!! This product sounds really awesome!!!

    maria May 14, 2012 at 9:29 am

Dry hair for me. Having naturally wavy hair and it.does not.look good.

    Lisa Z May 14, 2012 at 9:36 am

I have recently started following you and even if I don’t win I might have to try this! I have never dyed my hair but have been rocking my long locks for a couple of years now and it just always looks ‘blah’. So I would like to try the Malibu Blondes kit though after reading what you had to say about Florida’s hard water situation I wonder if that would be best. Either way this is fun! Early morning give aways!

    Jerry May 14, 2012 at 9:40 am

I would like to try the Blonde & Highlights Kit also. Don’t be sexist.
    “What’s wrong with being sexy?”

    Christina May 14, 2012 at 9:43 am

This product sounds great, especially love that it’s vegan, and I would love the opportunity to win a fine hair solutions kits to test out and hopefully find an awesome vegan hair solution to my super finer hair. And Hopefully share my positive experience with this product with others and encourage use of more vegan products for others. Interested in Malibu Fine Hair Solutions.

    Charmaine May 14, 2012 at 9:47 am

I’ve been trying to grow my hair in healthy and long, and always searching for cruelty-free products! Would love the kit for damaged hair!

    makenzie May 14, 2012 at 9:53 am

    Hard water hair.

    makenzie May 14, 2012 at 9:59 am

Or if there is something recommended for curly fine hair, didn’t see anything on the website, but that would be my firs choice. If nothing for natural curls then definitetly hard water products…recently moved to an area with very hard water and my hair is suffering! Can’t wait to try these products, looks like a wonderful company with features right up my alley!

Lindsey Cayer May 14, 2012 at 10:01 am

I think I would like to win the color treated hair malibu product. Their products look awesome (and had a great review), so I would love to try it, too! Also, I love to try out new cruelty free products!

    makenzie May 14, 2012 at 10:02 am

And I’d like to win because I’m allergic to anything and everything! Trying to switch over to all natural/organic products in hopes to relieve these problems. can’t wait to try them!!

Lindsey Cayer May 14, 2012 at 10:03 am

and what I meant to say was the Color Wellness Kit, not the color treated hair malibu product. My Mistake. I would also love to try the Hard Water Kit! Go Vegan Hair Products! Mailbu seems pretty awesome and legit.

    Larissa May 14, 2012 at 10:08 am

Oh what a lovely giveaway! The color wellness kit would be perfect for my hair! I have just started getting my hair done red and it fades so fast sometimes so its nice to have a product to protect it

    Bethany May 14, 2012 at 10:12 am

Would be so excited to try the Color Wellness kit of Malibu!! It is so difficult to find a great vegan product for color treated hair in the midwest!! Thank you for such an awesome opportunity, love your blog!!

    Dru May 14, 2012 at 10:24 am

I would love the color wellness kit! Harsh coloring products make my hair extra frizzy. Maybe this will help

    Nadia May 14, 2012 at 10:25 am

Thanks for having this great giveaway! I live in Florida as well so the Hard Water Wellness kit would be perfect. I didn’t know about the mineral buildup issue and I’ve been here the majority of my life! Good thing I follow your page

    Heidi May 14, 2012 at 10:32 am

I would love to win the hard water wellness kit. I loved my hair when I was pregnant but now after two kids it is dull, lifeless, and dry. This kit sounds like exactly what I need.

Geneva Johnson May 14, 2012 at 10:44 am

    Good morning!

I would like to give this line a try. I’ve been vegan for three years and have always had a hard time finding a vegan hair care product that does not make my hair sticky and gross. I only like to wash my hair two to three times a week as well. I think the hair body&shine would be the best choice for my hair.

    Thank you for your consideration!

    deanna May 14, 2012 at 10:47 am

I hope I made it. Not sure but I really want to try this product. I would enjoy the wellness kit or the color kit. Your review is great.

    Lauren Z May 14, 2012 at 10:48 am

I would like to try the hard water treatment since we have extremely hard water where I live. Thanks and love the video!

    jeanann May 14, 2012 at 10:53 am

Wow these products look amazing ! I would really love to try the “blonde” wellness kit.
Everything that I have read on these products seem amazing!

    Lauren May 14, 2012 at 10:54 am

I would love to try the kit for blondes. I’m 30 weeks pregnant and all this extra oil seems to be making my hair just one big grease ball. I am extremely determined not to use products containing chemicals during this pregnancy. Thank you for the suggestions! I will definitely check these out either way.

    deanna May 14, 2012 at 10:59 am

THANK YOU for the great selection for Music Monday. I love it and put a big smile on my face and mood to start the day.

    deanna May 14, 2012 at 11:23 am

So I can see by all the post above that I didn’t make the top 8, however I think I will buy this product and try it though based on Mrs. Campbell’s review and the product website. I want the “OMG” hair. Thanks for the giveaway opportunities Vegan Housewife.

Katherine Marie May 14, 2012 at 12:14 pm

So I’m not sure if this is still going on- but I would love the “hair lacks body and shine kit” – this stuff looks great! Thanks Vegan Housewives for an awesome blog and awesome giveaways!

Sarah Herrewynen May 14, 2012 at 1:29 pm

Oh the damaged hair product is the one for me! Thank you for introducing this company! I will be looking into buying some! I am pretty sure I missed the giveaway but it’s always good to have more vegan companies on my list!

    Kim D. May 17, 2012 at 11:55 am
