  • Hello, Sleepy Baby!

by Kortney Campbell on May 8, 2012

Today has been quite exciting at the Campbell house. At 10am this morning, 12 of our closest family members and friends showed up at Meet the Baby to find out what we’re having.

My family has been pretty excited waiting on this day to arrive (hence my grandpa’s text above) and to our dismay, the baby was absolutely passed out, snuggled up in a ball, fists clenched up by his ears, with no intentions of waking up or letting us see his little face, let alone what kind of heat he was packing. It took upwards of 20 minutes to actually get the money shot, but after much poking and prodding by the ultrasound technician, I got a few tiny angry fists to the stomach and a flash of the goods. Despite the crazy amount of vintage girl clothes we’ve (well, I’ve) collected, I am proud to announce that we are having a baby boy!

Don’t let the girl clothes fool you, I am in NO WAY disappointed by this new discovery. For some reason, since I had previously never wanted to have a girl and John was terrified by the idea of a daughter, I just figured we were destined for a little lady. Apparently that wasn’t the immediate plan though.

John is still ecstatic that the Campbell name will live on and has even come up with a nearly definite name (which won’t be disclosed to even our families until baby C is born). However, we’re still taking ideas. If you have any suggestions, we’d love to hear them in the comments below!

PS: We have several awesome giveaways coming up over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out. You don’t want to miss these!

    About Kortney Campbell

I'm Kortney; a wife, natural mama and vegan in love with life, food and all things vintage! I've been vegan since December 2007, but have loved to cook & create pretty things since before I can remember. I started Vegan Housewives because I don't think you have to give up the joys of food when going vegan! I have a fondness for re-creating non-vegan recipes (especially my grandma's), making a healthier & animal friendly version so be sure to send me your favorite concoctions by clicking our "share a recipe" button - I would LOVE to veg-i-fy them!

This day has been one of the most amazing and incredible days of my life. God has used this day to totally and completely abolish any stress or anything else in my life. I NOW CAN EVEN TRUTHFULLY SAY THAT WE HAVE A LITTLE QUARTER RICAN BABY BOY ON THE WAY. Thanks, John and Kortney, I love you both forever and a day. Jeremiah 29:11

I will agree that this day was incredibly beautiful and intoxicating. The excitement and joy and wonder of watching the baby inside you was overwhelming and seeing the goods was a moment never to be forgotten. Watching him hide his face from us was funny. I am already placing my bet that baby boy is going to be 22 inches or longer. His legs and arms are so long already. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of such wonder and beauty. I love all four of you.

I like Luke Gentry Campbell. Luke after a character in one of your favorite movies and Luke from one of the best gospel’s. I think it is a strong name and I love Gentry to honor your dad. However I will love whatever yall have already named him. This was just a thought as you suggested. Love yall.
