Mr. & Mrs. Campbell: The Music

by Kortney Campbell on April 12, 2012

A wedding isn’t a wedding without a good playlist. We hand picked every song & had our friend Diaz MC to prevent any of the typical DJ picks. Today is all about sharing some of the music we chose.

Wedding Party Aisle Walk:

Adele – Daydreamer

My Aisle Walk:

Elton John – Tiny Dancer

Wedding Send-off Song:

Copeland – You Have My Attention

Wedding Party Introduction:

Elton John – Saturday Night’s Alright

First Dance:

New Frontiers – Standing on a Line

Dance with My Grandpa:

Bob Carlisle – Butterfly Kisses

John’s Dance with His Mom:

Etta James – At Last

Garter Toss:

Elton John – Bennie & Jets

A Few Reception Songs:

Most are old hip-hop & R&B songs, but we love them all!

Last Song:

Elton John – Your Song

This one is actually extra special. I never really wanted to get married before I met John, but the one thing I DID know was if I ever changed my mind, this was the song I’d dance with my daddy to & I’d walk down the aisle to tiny dancer.

My daddy wasn’t able to be there for the wedding in person (which you may have read about at the beginning of wedding week), but he did walk (or rather hitch a ride) down the isle with me & my bouquet. He would have loved John, and seeing how Elton was his favorite, I’d say he’d be pretty impressed with our song choices.

What are a few of your favorite wedding jams?

I've been vegan since December 2007, but have loved to cook & create pretty things since before I can remember. I started Vegan Housewives because I don't think you have to give up the joys of food when going vegan! I have a fondness for re-creating non-vegan recipes (especially my grandma's), making a healthier & animal friendly version so be sure to send me your favorite concoctions by clicking our "share a recipe" button - I would LOVE to veg-i-fy them!

The only exception is when Jordan Lyon hijacked the DJ list and played “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus and everyone danced like a bunch of 14 year old girls. …Still the best wedding/reception ever. :)

I love your music choices! We played very similar music at my wedding including my favorite, Poison by Bell Biv DeVoe. It was a crowd favorite!
