  • Red Apple Vegan Lipstick Review

by Kortney Campbell on September 9, 2013

I’m not sure if you all know this, but we’re pretty in love with lipstick in these parts. The funny thing is, I don’t “get ready” too often (don’t judge me! I work from home…with a 10 1/2 month old), but it’s amazing what pretty lips can do for jeans and a t-shirt. It’s a game changer. Seriously…mind BLOWN.

If we’re being honest here (which, of course, we are), I have a hard time finding liptstick- especially red– that I love. They’re always super bright and clownish and never give me that deep, dark color I’m looking for. I usually end up using 3-4 different products just to get the color I want & it ends up being more of a chore than anything! Add in the vegan factor and it’s even more difficult. However, I recently got the opportunity to check out a few colors from the ever so amazing Red Apple Lipstick line. And the verdict? I’m in love!

Vegan-Lipstick-Review I tried 4 different colors from their line:

Red! | Everyone needs a good bright red. Not the dull, pinkish orange red, but a RED! I like to think of this as my fancy red. We get dressed up and drink wine on a girls night.

Crush on Me | This super light pink is usually my go to when I don’t have much make up on. It’s so light that it doesn’t look silly when I’m headed to get coffee in my yoga pants (yes, I wear my night clothes in public. Again, no judging)!

Sunkissed | I would have never imagined enjoying Sunkissed as much as I do. It’s super light and orange without being ORANGE. Do you get me? It’s kind of like peaches for your lips and so perfect for summer!

Rebel | This color is my vegan lipstick soulmate. From the name, to the feeling it gives me inside when I wear it, there is nothing about it that I would change. If I was a color, I would choose to be rebel. It’s the perfect deep red with dark undertones that I’ve always searched for and never found. Rebel, I love you like a love song, baby.

I really like to mix and match the colors too! Crush on Me + Red! make an awesome hot pink and sometimes I’ll combine Sunkissed with Red! for a more intense orange.

Oh, and Red Apple products aren’t just vegan- they’re free of gluten, soy, allergens, parabens and are made in the good ole US of A! They even smell amazing and leave your lips feeling awesome (thanks to the vegan vitamin E)! The company really is amazing!

Have you tried out Red Apple Lipstick yet? how about any of their other products? I’m currently eying the shadows…too cheesy? Maybe…Anyways, if you’ve tried them, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Please Note: While these products were provided by Red Apple Lipstick, all reviews on Vegan Housewives are handpicked, 100% honest and unbiased. If we don’t like a product, we don’t want you to waste your money on it, so we’d never falsify our opinion!

You are so gorgeous!! Thank you for such an amazing review! Not only are you an awesome writer, but you really know how to wear some makeup!! :)

I love the way your words made me giggle as I read (yoga pants are ALWAYS ok with me)!! I love that you talk about the way Rebel makes you FEEL when you wear it! That’s what we love so much about lipstick, is the way it makes a woman feel – it’s not just about putting something on your lips – it’s about boosting a mood!!

    Thanks for the love!!

Wow, just found your blog and I think I’m in love! Vegan lipsticks are the pain of my life at the moment, I’d never heard of this company but by the sounds of things I’m never going to look back. I look forward to reading more of your posts. love, bean xx (p.s I write a vegan blog too if you’re interested http://buddingbean.blogspot.com/)

Hi sorry but I just checked the ingredients and Red Apple Lipstickis NOT vegan. They have beeswax which if you go by vegan standards that is a no no. So why ate they marketing themselves as “a vegan lipstick” ????

Hmm, that is strange. I will have to contact them to ask about the ingredients. When I talked to them, I was told they were vegan.
