• Vegan Cooke Review || Om Nom Nom Vegan Bakery

by Kortney Campbell on April 11, 2013

We are kind of cookie connoisseurs around here. And as I stated in a previous post, it’s HARD to find pre-made vegan cookies that we love. I don’t know why, but the home baked version seems to trump them every time.

Vegan-Cookie Recently a new South Florida based company called Om Nom Nom contacted us about sharing their goods. I’m not going to lie. I secretly despise the use of the term “om nom nom” when it comes to food. However, I was blown away by this vegan bakery as soon as I opened the box…Each cookie was nearly the size of my hand and individually wrapped in packaging that is to DIE for!  They make the name “Om Nom Nom” LOOK awesome.

Om-Nom-Nom-vegan-bakery I know this has absolutely nothing to do with the cookies themselves, but I’m a font snob. A good font can make my day (week, actually) and says A LOT about a company. Fonts take time, thought, and a million second glances. Comic Sans and Papyrus – I cringe at the thought of you. Om Nom Nom clearly has a good design team on their side. From the logo and font to the color schemes on and tiny illustrations specialized for each wrapper, I am absolutely smitten. You can call it love at first sight.

Vegan-cookie-Om-Nom-Nom Now that I’m finished ranting about the level of fabulous they have achieved, let’s talk cookies. I was sent 4 different flavors and each one was a unique and exciting experience!

vegan-red-velvet-cookie I’ll start with the Red Velvet because this flavor and I have quite the past. It is my husbands all time favorite, my go-to vegan cupcake to bake and was what my wedding cake was made of. When John & I started dating, I even made him a vegan Red Velvet and Cheesecake layer cake (similar to the NOT vegan one served at Cheesecake Factory). I thought I had experienced all things Red Velvet, but I had never had a Red Velvet cookie! This one didn’t let me down. It was the perfect color, consistency and all around everything I would hope for in a vegan Red Velvet cookie. Now that I think of it, when I order more from them, maybe I will top them with icing just for fun!

vegan-chocolate-snickerdoodle So we’ve all had Snickerdoodles, right? (well, not my husband because he hates the name…) But have you ever had Om Nom Nom’s Chocolate Snickerdoodle? If not, you should. I typically don’t like granulated sugar, but these were the perfect balance. Just a pinch of sugar on top and so much chocolate, of course.

vegan-pb-cookie The Ultimate Peanut Butter was unlike any other peanutbutter cookie I’ve ever had. It was soft, moist (not a fan of this word either) and almost doughy with an un-baked feel. It was super rich and filling, so I would eat a bite or two at a time, but I LOVED it.

Vegan-orange-chocolate-cookie I’ve saved the Orange Zested Chocolate Chip for last because it was (in my opinion) the most unique of all. Chocolate chip cookies are already so great that I don’t tend to think about adding anything to them. However these guys (and girls) added just the right amount of Orange zest to guarantee a place in my heart for this cookie. The bitter citrus flavor paired with the chocolate chips is amazing and you can smell the orange scent as soon as you open the package. Put it in the microwave for a few seconds and you’re in heaven. True story.

Basically, these cookies are the bomb (dot com…) and you should order them ASAP. If you don’t agree, I’ll take them off your hands.

Be sure to find them online:

Have you ever had Om Nom Nom’s vegan sweets? What did you think? We will be in Miami for a wedding this weekend. Maybe I can track them down…

I have never seen a red velvet cookie, no less a vegan one! That one is calling my name. So is the peanut butter one. I also have to agree with you that the design for the packaging is some of the cutest I’ve seen, like the work of an actual graphic artist/designer.
