  • Vegan Housebaby Update: 8 Weeks

by Kortney Campbell on March 5, 2012

I am officially 8 weeks pregnant tomorrow.  What does this mean exactly? Well, the baby is about the size of a large raspberry with a speedy little heart rate of 150 bpm, insists that I only eat Mexican food & crushed ice (or else he/she will use his or her little powers to induce nausea) & wants everything I wear to be extremely tight in the chest area. Now that you know my personal problems, lets take a look at what this little sprout may look like in the next few years…

Statistically, we can imagine dark hair & hazel or brown eyes, but you never know. To give an idea of what we’re working with, I pulled out a few old photos of John & I to see what to expect.

    John’s first birthday!

    Me at 1!

John with his brother Jake at Disney world. This is where I start to second guess statistics. Sometimes you can’t even tell they’re related!

Me pre-hair. There’s always that awkward stage where people call any baby not in pink a boy. I’m pretty sure this was that time for me.

This is where I get excited. Will the baby stand like he does?

Or will the little nugget pose/hide their toes like me?

One thing’s for sure: He will have one helluva mean mug.

Or she will be a little sass-hole.

He or she will have an amazing family that loves them to death.

And will definitely be vegan to avoid another picture like this.

I hope you have a good idea of what baby Campbell will look like, because we seriously have no idea. The one thing we guarantee is that this little nugget will be loved more than life itself.

This song seems appropriate for Music Monday:

I'm Kortney; a wife, natural mama and vegan in love with life, food and all things vintage! I've been vegan since December 2007, but have loved to cook & create pretty things since before I can remember. I started Vegan Housewives because I don't think you have to give up the joys of food when going vegan! I have a fondness for re-creating non-vegan recipes (especially my grandma's), making a healthier & animal friendly version so be sure to send me your favorite concoctions by clicking our "share a recipe" button - I would LOVE to veg-i-fy them!

Aww congrats! I am 7 weeks this week. I hear you on the chest area ripening- holy schmoly! My little peanut prefers anything salty-or sweet- but preferably both at the same time (and at all times!). A happy and healthy pregnancy to you!

Haha I am glad I’m not in it alone! Congratulations to you as well! You’ll have to keep us posted on your little lady or fellow!

I loved my weekly pregnancy updates that compared my baby to fruit and veggies. Wait until they are the size of a pumpkin or small watermelon!
You really never know with kids. I have dark complexion, hair, and eyes and my husband the complete opposite. Our first daughter has the fair skin, blue eyes, and blond hair. No one thinks I am the mom. And I hear how she looks like my husband all the time. My second is too young to tell but it isn’t looking like she will be dark like me.
Anytime I read about being pregnant makes me want to have another. And my youngest is only 4 months old!

We may not know what baby Campbell is going to look like but here are a few things we know for sure…. he or she will be beautiful beyond description. he or she is going to be sooooo loved , you and John will never want for a baby sitter because we will all be waiting in line for our turn. his or her birth is already being axiously awaited and is spoiled at the size of a rasberry. :) I love all four of you so very much.
