You Spin Me Right Round, Baby

Thrifted Vinyl

There’s nothing like listening to the crackle of an old vinyl record while hanging around the house. Alexander is a record connoisseur of sorts, so I get to enjoy listening to his collection and have started a little one of my own. While we often buy them in record stores & online, we almost always start our search in thrift stores & yard sales.  Even though we love sifting through dusty bins,  it’s often difficult to find quality records amongst the Barbra Streisands and Jesus Christ Super Stars.

Thrift Store Vinyl

However, every once & a while, we seem to get lucky.  Here are a few of Alexander & I’s favorite thifted vinyls:

  • Fats Waller- “Compilation”
  • Ella Fitzgerald- “Ella in Hollywood”
  • The Beatles- “1967-1970”
  • James Taylor- “One Man Dog”
  • Beach Boys- “Summer Fun”
  • Bob Dylan- “Greatest Hits”

It’s so fun to look them up online and see that some of your finds are actually worth some money. I love that vinyl is coming back; It seems that most of our friends have a little collection these days.

What are you favorite records and where do you usually find them?

About Kortney Campbell

I'm Kortney; a wife, natural mama and vegan in love with life, food and all things vintage! I've been vegan since December 2007, but have loved to cook & create pretty things since before I can remember. I started Vegan Housewives because I don't think you have to give up the joys of food when going vegan! I have a fondness for re-creating non-vegan recipes (especially my grandma's), making a healthier & animal friendly version so be sure to send me your favorite concoctions by clicking our "share a recipe" button - I would LOVE to veg-i-fy them!

Hey there! My husband and I rescued his parents old record player and vinyls from being sold in a yard sale!!!! Thank goodness I got there in time! Phew! I have a heck of a time finding a way to display them though. The average bookshelf is to narrow to store them. How do you display your records for easy access?? Weird question I know but I don’t know a lot of people who are into records so……………help? Great blog! I just found you today and glad I did. Saving you to my favorites list………now.
