On Friday, we got up early and I finished all of my work while Judah napped. When he woke up, we got dressed, packed the car, stopped to grab some food at Rollin Oats, picked Katie up and headed to the park to meet our friend Sarah and her two girls, Providence & Autumn, for a picnic.

I haven’t been on a picnic in a while until Friday and it was so much fun (with the exception of Judah and Katie getting pooped on by birds that weren’t too happy we parked our blankets under their tree)! We brought everything from hummus and crackers to vegan chicken salad, dolmades and peanut butter cups. The girls played on the playground for a couple of hours then we headed over to the dog park so Kiki could have a little fun too.

On Saturday, John, Judah and I headed to Lotus Vegetarian for the monthly buffet with some friends. Then Sunday, Judah and I had brunch with two of my best friends (since high school) and one of them asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding in the Bahamas next January!

After such an exciting, food filled weekend, of course today was destined to give me a case of the Mondays. Judah is still a teething machine and spent a good 75% of the day fussing or crying and the three times I’ve managed to get him down for a nap, the dog started barking and woke him up. Needless to say, working has been quite difficult today. I won’t lie – I’ve wanted to cry with him a couple of times, but John is on his way home so I can run out some of the frustration and take a bath! Tomorrow is a new day!

I’m pretty sure I’ve shared this song before, but it is my go-to happy music. It cheers me up on a bad day, so I’ll share it again in the event that you’re having a case of the Mondays as well:

    About Kortney Campbell

I'm Kortney; a wife, natural mama and vegan in love with life, food and all things vintage! I've been vegan since December 2007, but have loved to cook & create pretty things since before I can remember. I started Vegan Housewives because I don't think you have to give up the joys of food when going vegan! I have a fondness for re-creating non-vegan recipes (especially my grandma's), making a healthier & animal friendly version so be sure to send me your favorite concoctions by clicking our "share a recipe" button - I would LOVE to veg-i-fy them!

Awe, I love it! So thankful for you & your family (and the Charos, of course!). I can’t wait to do it again, it is one of my favorite things to do, it’s so peaceful to sit down by the water. I love KiKi’ s posing, hahaha. And your baby boy is so beautiful and adorable! I’ll have to steal some prints from you of the girls. I’m excited to have made it onto the blog for a second time! :)

I came across your blog as I was searching info for Tampa vegan kids. :) We are contemplating a move there. Anyway, I have been reading through all your pages, so I wanted to say hi. As a “vegan housewife,” I love the idea of your blog – and it’s so pretty! Have a great day! Oh, and I get what you’re saying – my one year old is such a light sleeper. It’s been hard to get anything done all year, ha. Good song.
